Abstract
Thanks to Andrea Battistini’s investigations into Giambattista Vico’s works, the study of eighteenth century Italian literary tradition made a significant turn and it was consistently enlarged in regards to epistemological perspectives. Particular attention is given in this essay to Battistini’s analysis devoted to Vico’s rhetoric concerning the development of the Baroque tradition and the Enlightenment.
